1936 U.S. National Championships (tennis)

The 1936 U.S. National Championships (now known as the US Open) was a tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor grass courts at the West Side Tennis Club, Forest Hills in New York, USA. The tournament ran from 3 September until 12 September. It was the 56th staging of the U.S. National Championships and the fourth Grand Slam tennis event of the year.
Fred Perry's victory would remain as the last Grand Slam tournament won by a British man until Andy Murray won the US Open in 2012, 76 years apart.
